Rancilio Rocky Coffee Grinder Settings

Tonight, I was searching the internet for some advice from current Rancilio Rocky Coffee Grinder owners on what might be a good setting for espresso, drip coffee and french press. It's possible that my search phrases were not up to par... but I certainly couldn't find any specific information.

So, I decided to do some hands on comparisons based on grounds size with my own machine, and some old beans.

Espresso: 9
9 is what I personally use with my Gaggia Classic espresso machine. I've read that 8 is a good setting to start, then move your way up or down, (probably up).

Drip Coffee: 40
40 is the consistency of Folger's, which seems to be a good place to start, (not that I'm a fan of Folger's). 40-45 seems to be a good range to start with.

French Press: 80
80 is a good starting point, 85 is the most coarse the Rancilio Rocky Coffee Grinder gets.

The settings above are intended to give you some sort of starting point, hope this helps!
